Director of Operations

Department: CA - San Diego Home
Location: San Diego, CA

ABS Kids is currently seeking a Director of Operations. The Director of Operations provides operational leadership for ABA therapy services across the San Diego region and surrounding markets, supporting both center-based and in-home programs. This person needs to be local to the San Diego area to visit the centers in this region.

What Would You Do?

  • Oversee operational performance across multiple ABA therapy centers and in-home service regions
  • Provide leadership and support to Operations Managers, Directors of ABA Services, and center leadership teams
  • Conduct regular on-site visits to centers to evaluate operations, support teams, and ensure alignment with company standards
  • Foster strong collaboration between clinical leadership and operational teams
  • Drive operational performance through clear KPIs, performance monitoring, and accountability structures
  • Ensure centers meet key operational targets including utilization, staffing levels, scheduling efficiency, and service delivery goals
  • Identify operational challenges and implement solutions that improve efficiency and client outcomes
  • Standardize operational processes across locations to ensure consistency and scalability
  • Partner with Directors of ABA Services and Operations Managers to ensure effective staffing models, clinician utilization, and caseload management
  • Support scheduling frameworks that balance client demand, staff capacity, and operational efficiency
  • Monitor workforce planning across center-based and in-home services to maintain service continuity and client satisfaction
  • Translate company strategy into clear operational plans at the regional level
  • Support new center launches, regional expansion, and operational scaling
  • Partner with executive leadership to drive initiatives that improve efficiency, service delivery, and organizational growth
  • Monitor and analyze operational and service delivery metrics across locations
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of operational reporting
  • Use data to identify trends, address performance gaps, and guide operational improvements
  • Provide regular performance insights and updates to executive leadership
  • ABS Kids reserves the right to add, change, or take away responsibilities at any time

Who Are We Looking For?

  • 5+ years of progressive operational leadership experience, ideally in ABA therapy, behavioral health, or healthcare services
  • Have experience managing multi-site or regional operations
  • Have successfully led large teams including both operational and clinical leadership
  • Are highly analytical and data-driven
  • Have strong leadership, communication, and change management skills
  • Are comfortable working in the field and traveling regularly to support multiple locations
  • Thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • BCBA certification is not required, but experience within the ABA industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in effectively managing multiple, competing projects/priorities concurrently.
  • Excellent communication skills.
